Once you have installed Life 360, you can enter your mobile phone number and email address to open an account; once you have done so, you will be asked if you want to open a new Circle or join someone else's Circle. Each Circle has a 6-digit invitation code that you have to send to someone else or use the invitation code provided by the Circle administrator to join the Circle, and there is no way to find a Circle to join by searching for it to ensure that everyone in the Circle is a known 'insider'. You can set the location of Home, Office, School, etc. in Circle, so you can see where they are in real time and with great accuracy in everyday use.

In case of an emergency, users can press the + button in the middle and then press Help Alert, which will send a distress signal to the other Circle members after 10 seconds and record your location at the same time.
