Drifting is a driving technique, also known as "sideways sliding", "tire sliding" or "tailing", in which the driver oversteers to make the car slide sideways. You can also change the stance, tire width and rim diameter. The best setting for these settings depends on the player's personal preferences, so test various configurations to find the best one for you.
