The game mode of Plants vs Zombies 2 is inherited from its predecessor, Plants vs Zombies. Similar to its gameplay, players have to place a series of plants with attack or defense functions in front of their position huts to stop the constant arrival of zombies entering the huts and eating the brains of the occupants. Each scene has five lanes, and zombies usually appear randomly in a certain track, along a straight line. Normal plants can generally only attack or defend against zombies on one track. There is also a weed whacker at the end of each track, which can clear all zombies on that track at once before they break through to the weed whacker. But after using it once, it becomes ineffective. If you use plants to eventually destroy all the zombies that appear, you will be declared the winner of the level; if any zombies reach the bottom of the channel that has lost the weed whacker, you will be declared the failure of the level.
